Clinical trials of a synthetic polypeptide (Copolymer I) for the treatment of multiple sclerosis
1984
A synthetic polypeptide (Copolymer I) composed of alanine, glutamic acid, lysine and tyrosine has been demonstrated to be non-encephalitogenic and non-toxic in laboratory animals. Yet, it is capable of suppressing EAE. This pre-clinical work was performed at the Weizmann Institute for Science, Rehovoth, Israel.
