The invention discloses a steam generation device for an ironing machine. The steam generation device comprises a heating cavity and an electric heating tube, wherein a steam channel which is unidirectionally arranged in a surrounding manner is formed in the heating cavity, the inner end of the steam channel is communicated with a water inlet, and the outer end of the steam channel is communicated with a plurality of steam outlets formed in the front side of the heating cavity; the electric heating tube is buried in the bottom of the heating cavity. The specific structure of the heating cavity disclosed by the invention comprises a heating cavity main body and a heating cavity cover plate, a steam groove is formed in the heating cavity main body, and the upper side of the steam groove is sealed by the heating cavity cover plate to form a steam channel. Compared with the existing product, according to the steam generation device disclosed by the invention, the steam channel which is unidirectionally arranged in a surrounding manner is used, thus water can be heated for many times by the electric heating tube buried in the bottom while entering the stream channel; meanwhile, the heated time of water can be prolonged, thus water is much adequately and much rapidly heated, the vapourization rate is higher, and the problem of water spray is effectively solved.
