Method for producing 2'-deoxy-2'-fluoro uridine

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for industrially producing 2'-deoxy-2'-fluorouridine which is an important intermediate for pharmaceuticals. SOLUTION: The objective 2'-deoxy-2'-fluorouridine is obtained by reacting a 1-β-D-arabinofuranosyluracil derivative (3',5'-hydroxy-protected compound) with sulfuryl fluoride (SO 2 F 2 ) in the presence of an organic base to convert into a 3',5'-hydroxy-protected compound of 2'-deoxy-2'-fluorouridine and then acting a deprotecting agent.
