A convenient synthesis of some new 2-oxazolidone derivatives

One of the general approaches to the synthesis of 2-oxazolidones involves the reaction of glycols with urea. The synthesis of some novel 2-oxazolidone derivatives 3, 5a and Sb by the reaction of 1, 2 diols 2, 4a and 4b with urea have been reported.
