The profile of mortality in Mexico has been modified: of a profile with predominance of infectious diseases to one with predominance of chronic diseases. Among the latter group, stand out the malignant tumors, which occupy the second place in the general mortality in our country. On the other hand there have been identified healthcare quality problems in these patients, emphasizing the related ones to the communication doctor - patient and/or his relatives, delay in diagnosis and erroneous diagnoses principally. The objective of the work is to identify the main problems referred in the received complaints of Oncology in the CONAMED. From the electronic system of CONAMED (SAQMED), it were selected the Oncologic complaints, since June 1996 to November 2000, and it were included socialdemographic information, institution as well as diagnoses. The sixty eight percent of the complaints corresponded to the D.F., 67% were female; the average age was 48 years old. Seventy one percent were social security. Eighty three 83.3%, were malignant tumors, with 18.8% of female genital devices. In 46.7% they had medical malpractice. Counting on NOM´s related to oncology, does not guarantee its application, reason why they will have to spread more between the medical community; feminine direction for opportune detection and processing, participation in programs of screening in Sector Health. To establish specific protocols of oncology processing, to implement strategies to avoid delays in the diagnosis, dowry of medicines, and integral handling of the patient. The detection and identification of exhibition to factors of risk and life styles that can be avoidable. Finally were proposed nine recommendations.
