Taxi calling system and method based on handheld mobile terminals

A taxi calling system and method based on handheld mobile terminals aim at solving the problem that passengers are difficult to take a taxi and traffic resources are wasted, and taxi calling platforms are difficult to be promoted. The system comprises handheld mobile terminals of passengers, an information processing server and handheld mobile terminals of drivers. The information processing server can receive and store dynamic geographic position information of the handheld mobile terminals of the drivers. By using a handheld mobile terminal of a passenger, the passenger sends taxi-taking order information including taxi-taking geographic position information to the information processing server. According to the taxi-taking order information, the information processing server sends taxi-taking request information to the handheld mobile terminals of the drivers at the region to which the passenger belongs. After receiving the taxi-taking request information, the drivers can compete for the order. Then the driver performs voice or symbol communication with the passenger under the coordination of the information processing server, and confirms pick-up matters, and picks up the passenger. The system and method are convenient for passengers to take a taxi, and reduce the deadhead ratio of taxis, and are easily promoted.
