Interdisciplinary treatment of a patient with operated cleft palate

2018
The aim of this case report was to present interdisciplinary treatment approach in a patient with isolated cleft palate. A 16-year-old female patient had a chief complaint of difficulty in chewing. Her clinical and radiological evaluation revealed an operated cleft palate, maxillary constriction and retrognathia, anterior and posterior open bite. The interdisciplinary treatment included presurgical and postsurgical orthodontics, orthognathic surgery with multipiece LeFort I osteotomy and prosthetic rehabilitation of a missing molar. A balanced profile, a good occlusion, and a normal function were achieved at the end of the treatment. These results remained stable 1 year after treatment.
