Organic photodetectors and their method of preparation

2016
An organic photo-detector for the detection of infrared, visible and ultraviolet radiation is provided with an adjustable spectral sensitivity in order to achieve a high responsiveness at different design wavelengths. The organic photodetector comprises at least a substrate, a first electrode, a second electrode and at least one organic material which is disposed between the first and the second electrode, wherein at the interface between the first electrode and the organic material and / or between the second electrode and the organic material is formed a Schottky barrier. The tunability in the responsiveness of the organic photodetector is achieved in that at least one electrode is structured so that it has nano-openings for the excitation of surface plasmon resonances.
