Robust Estimation of Uncertainties of AVO Attribute Anomalies

Summary AVO (Amplitude Versus Offset) technique is widely used for de-risking fluids inside prospects. In this extended abstract, the objective was to develop a new family of attributes “confidence attributes” allowing a better understanding of AVO uncertainties. So, with the help of confidence attributes geophysicist could better map parts of the anomalies that are highly robust to the choice of the process parameters. All results are here illustrated on a real deep offshore turbiditic field.
