Effect of fertilizer levels on yield and quality of new sugarcane genotypes

2001
A field experiment comprising 15 treatment combinations having three levels of N, P and K fertilizers (75%, 100% and 125% of recommended dose) and five genotypes of sugarcane (Co 8011, Co 87025,Co 87044,MS 92121 and Co 86032), was conducted fortwo yearsduring 1997-98 and 1998-99 at Central Sugarcane Research Station, Padegaon. The crop was planted during spring season. The results obtained revealed that, CO-87044 and CO-86032 gave better cane and CCS yields. Application of 25% additional fertilizerdose gave significantly higher cane (116.99 t/ha) and CCS(17.04 t/ha) yield than recommended dose of fertilizer. Sugarcane genotypes, CO-87044 and CO-86032 gave significantlyhighercane and CCS yields than rest of other genotypes.
