The invention discloses a lightweight heat-preserving fabric and a production method thereof; and the fabric has a fiber with the apparent density not more than 1.00g/cm , and compared with the polyester fabric with the same coverage coefficient, the fabric has 20 percent to 90 percent of lightweight performance and 1.2 to 1.3 times of heat-preserving performance. The fabric is a woven or knitted fabric, and has excellent lightweight performance and heat-preserving performance.
