The purpose of this study is to test the relationship between tourism preparedness, positive emotional response, and approach behavior. Data were collected from Busan residents and Busan visitors who had experienced tourism for the last year. Hypothesis testing was conducted by regression analysis to test the relationship between variables. As a result of the analysis, tourism preparedness positively affected positive emotional response. Positive emotional responses were found to affect approach behavior. This results are thought to provide the following suggestions. First, local governments and tourism business executives will need to make continuous efforts to improve overall tourism preparedness through periodic survey analysis, because the improvement of tourism preparedness is the basis of attracting and satisfying tourists. Second, it is necessary to focus on the soft components (tourism information and tourism promotions, tourism services, hygiene factors, convenience facilities, etc.) of tourism preparedness components. Third, in order to maximize approach behavior, it will be necessary to develop key tourist resources and products that can cause at least one positive emotional response to be greatly increased. Fourth, it will be necessary to actively introduce evaluation system of tourism preparedness considering the characteristics of tourism destination.
