Analysis of wave dynamic characteristics of floating pier with flexible connection on SESAM software

To guarantee the floating pier works normally under the influence of wave,a time-domain nonlinear coupled method was used to numerically forecast the motion responses and the mooring tensions of the moored floating pier system by sesam software in this paper.The influences of the connecting mooring lines between the adjacent piers and different wave directions on the motion responses of the floating pier were concerned.The results reveal that the above-mentioned influences are very great.As significant wave height is 1.25 mand peak spectral period is 6s,the peak amplitude of the relative surge motion of the adjacent piers with the connecting mooring lines is 0.54 times as large as that without the connecting mooring lines.And when the wave direction is 90°,the amplitudes of sway and heave motions of the floating pier are the largest.As the wave direction is 105°,the amplitudes of the relative motions of the adjacent piers are the largest.As a whole,the connecting mooring lines between the adjacent piers can reduce the amplitude of relative motion greatly.And when placing the floating pier,the wave direction should be 150°~180°.
