Modeling organizational architectural styles in UML

2003
Today's information systems operate within a dynamic, organizational context and consequently require flexible architectures to ensure that they remain operational and useful. The Tropos software development methodology is founded on the premise that social and intentional concepts (such as those of actor and goal) can be used throughout the development process from early requirements to implementation. Earlier work within the scope of the project has defined a number of organizational architectures styles which are suitable for cooperative, dynamic and distributed applications. In this paper, we use UML to describe these novel architetural styles. In doing so we are able to provide a detailed representation of both the structure and behavior of the styles.
