Perfectionism after virtue: an ethic for ecological action

Long unknown to the French public, environmental virtue ethics is now the object of growing interest among philosophers studying the problem of ecological action. After presenting some of the reasons behind this phenomenon, this article will consider some of the difficulties caused by the detour into ancient philosophy in the field of environmental ethics and will examine in the light of the Emersonian perfectionism of Stanley Cavell.
