Design and Analysis of CPW-Fed Microstrip Patch Antenna for ISM Band Applications

2020
This study is focused on the design by optimizing a conventional CPW-Fed microstrip antenna for various scientific and commercial applications at 2.5 GHz in the IS M band. A parametric study is also done to achieve the best values of return loss (S11) and bandwidth. From this manual optimization, it is perceived that the air gap between the feed line and the ground plane is an important element to have the best performance in terms of return loss and bandwidth. The resultant optimized antenna has a return loss of -47dB at a resonating frequency of 2.5 GHz with a significant 1.6 GHz of bandwidth. Based on these outcomes, the proposed antenna is found to be met with the characteristics required for applications in the IS Mband.
