Exploration of clinical significance of NT-proBNP in the emergency treatment of senile patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease complicated with heart failure

Objective To investigate the clinical significance of NT-proBNP in the emergency treatment of senile patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease complicated with heart failure. Methods 98 COPD patients were selected as the research group,including 50 cases of patients with COPD only as the control group and 48COPD patients complicated with heart failure as the observation group. The level of NT-proBNP was detected before and after the treatment between the two groups. Results There were significant differences in NT-proBNP and LVEF between the two groups before the treatment( P 0. 01). After the treatment,there still existed significant difference in NT-proBNP between the two groups( P 0. 01). Conclusion NT-proBNP can be used as a reliable index to determine whether COPD patients are complicated with heart failure.
