Effect of maximum grain orientation on cellular automata simulation of grain growth

To study the impact of the maximum orientation value Q in cellular automata simulation of grain growth,it was simulated with different maximum grain orientations as 30,50,70,100,150 and 200.The results show that abnormal grain growth caused by grain collision could easily occur when the maximum grain orientation is small.The simulation is stable and consistent with the theory of grain growth when the maximum grain orientation is greater than 100.There are no significant different between the results when the maximum grain orientation is greater than 150.The growth index is closed for different maximum grain orientation,and it is consistent with the growth index given by other researchers.
