Drugs administered by pulmonary access are widespread in our society and the users are exposed to a significant variety of noxious effects from direct toxicity at the respiratory tract level. Studies carried out show a wide variety of histopathological lesions in marijuana smokers (mucous inflammation, cellular atypia, tissue metaplasy and often a serious displays). In addition, respiratory alterations have been described in habitual inhaled cocaine users and the resultant. cardiopulmonary symptoms are a common reason for consulting the emergency services. Necropsic studies describe the presence of interstitial pneumonitis and pulmonary fibrosis in 38% of crack smokers who died from accidental causes. The presence of a cough with rust coloured sputum occurs in more than 50% of the patients and thoracic pain has been described in 39%. Pulmonary hypertension, acute episodes of, bronchospasm, neumothorax, hemoptysis, etc. were also found. A characteristic respiratory symptom is the one known as "crack lung". Similarly, in the case of inhaled heroin there are such alterations as severe bronchospasm and bronchial hyperactivity in up to 42% of the cases studied, with a 22% prevalence of asthma episodes that also persist in a high percentage even after abstinence.
