Design and Simulation of LTE Prototype Filter for Filter bank multicarrier(FBMC) System

This paper concentrates on an efficient design of LTE prototype filter based on frequency sampling technique and least square criteria for FBMC system. The performance of designed filter is compared to that of PHYDYAS prototype filter in terms of stop band energy and maximum side lobe level. Frequency spreading technique and offset QAM are used in the implementation of FBMC rather than poly phase filter structure and ordinary QAM. Finally, performance of FBMC system with designed prototype filter is compared with that of OFDM in terms of bit error rate, power spectral density and computational complexity.
