The Stacked Frame Display for the Rapid Review and Analysis of Data

2016
The stacked frame display (SFD) is a method of displaying analog data in a very compact and meaningful fashion. To produce the SFD, each traditional analog waveform is reduced to the height of a single line. The amplitude and duration information that had been contained in each waveform is restored using a system of color-coding. Since the original analog waveforms are now compressed, a large amount of analog data can be reviewed accurately, comprehensively, and quickly. Also, patterns in the data that might not have been apparent previously are now revealed in the SFD. The SFD can be applied to the review and interpretation of analog data in a wide variety of fields.
