Effect of refraction of p-polarized light on angle-resolved photoemission from surface states on metals
1978
It is suggested that the suppression of normal photoemission from surface states on a W(100) surface near the plsma frequency is due to refraction effects. Two model calculations are presented which are expected to bracket the real situation, and they both exhibit this property. Possible additional effects to refraction on the photoemission cross section are discussed.
