Model of friction and wear processes on lubricated metal surfaces

Various aspects of the friction and wear processes on lubricated metal surfaces (LMS) have been discussed in many publications. However, these publications are uncoordinated, and they do not afford any general correlations ; this has hindered the development of the theory and practice of these processes, and it is an indication of inadequate attention to the development of a model of the processes, even though there can be no doubt of the need for such a model.
