A Review of the Department of Defense December 31, 1982 Selected Acquisition Reports (SARs)

Abstract : This study presents the results of a Congressional Budget Office (CBO) review of the Department of Defense's Selected Acquisition Reports (SAR) dated December 31, 1983. It provides in a few pages facts and data culled from about 2,000 pages of SAR information. The study is designed to be used by Congressional staff members working in the area of the acquisition of defense weapons systems. It looks at total cost changes in all SAR programs for the fourth quarter of 1983, for the 1983 calendar year as a whole, and over the years since 1977.
