The paper describes a dynamic method with which the adsorption and desorption behaviour of cationic polymers can be studied at exactly the same point on the hair by taking measurements before and after the polymer has been applied. The results show quite clearly that the polymer forms a network of isolated patches rather than a continuous film when it is applied to the hair
