Effects of Soil Texture on Carotenoid and Chlorophyll Content in Leaf of Flue-cured Tobacco

The effects of soil texture on the carotenoid,chlorophyll a and chlorophyll b content in the leaf of flue-cured tobacco in Luzhou city of Sichuan province were analyzed.In flint soil,the content of carotenoid,chlorophyll a and chlorophyll b in tobacco leaf was the highest in general,and the quality of tobacco leaf was the best,which was followed by that in yellow soil and in paddy soil.There was significant difference in carotenoid and chlorophyll content among different soil textures.Therefore,the flint soil was beneficial to the quality formation of tobacco leaf.
