Purpose: To determine the possibility of strengthening of the eyeball posterior pole with poly9. tetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) film with porous structure. Methods: Implantation of the polytetrafluoroethylene films into the sub-tenon space of the eyeball in two groups of rabbits, with the use for the first group the polytetrafluoroethylene transplant of special structure; for the second PTFE implant with known properties with subsequent morphological investigation of surgical results. Results: At the implantation of the PTFE implant with special properties after 2 months after operation, a strong fixation of the implant to the sclera with a structural and functional complex sclera-implant formation is noted.
