BIOACTIVE COMPOUNDS DETERMINATION USING GC-MS ANALYSIS OF THE PLANT, ANISOMELESMALABARICA (L.) R.BR. EX SIMS COLLECTED FROM KAVALKINARU AREA, TIRUNELVELI DISTRICT, TAMIL NADU, INDIA

2020
The bioactive components of A,malabarica leaves have been evaluated using GC-MS analysis. The phytochemicals were determined using Shimadzu GC-MS QP2010 ultra model. The GC-MS analysis report of A.malabarica revealed the presence of Cyclopentoxylaxane, Decamethyl-(0.40%), Cyclohexasiloxne, dodecamethyl (0.25), 1,2 Benzene di carboxylic acid, 2-ethoxy-2-oxo -(0.30%), 2,4-Imidazolidinedione, 1-[[(5-Nitro (1.98%), 9-Octadecenoic acid (Z) (0.32%), Heptadecanoic acid Ethyl Ester (0.53%), 2,6,8-Trimethylbicyclo[4.2.0]Oct-2- (0.25%), 2,6,10-Trimethyl, 14-Ethylene-14-PE (2.65%), 2-Pentadecanone, 6,10,14-trimethyl (0.33%), 7-Octadecyne,2-methyl- (0.64%), 3,7,11,15,-Tetramethyl-2-hexadecene-1-ol (1.33%), Cisvaccenic acid (0.43%), Ethyl 9, 12, 1-Octadecatrienoate (27.81%), Stearic acid (13.76%), Phytol acetate (3.27%), 1,2- Benzenedicarboxylic acid, diethyl ester (4.29%), 9,12,15-Octadecatrienoic acid, (Z-Z-Z)- (12.90%), Ethyl, (9Z, !2Z)-9,12-Octadecadieno (9.40%), Linoleic acid (!5.93%), Octadecanoic acid (1.35%) in the leaves. These compounds possess antibacterial activity, anticarcinogenic properties, antiperspirants, insecticides and used for making skin care products, thermal degradation products, detergents, cosmetics and as a precursor for the manufacture of synthetic form of vitamin E and vitamin K1 etc. These properties indicate that A.malabarica biochemicals could be used in modern system of medicines.
