Thermal hysteresis in inertial sensors

2020
Inertial sensors are main measurement transducer of the attitude measurement and inertial navigation. The accuracy is crucial to measure accurately, also in the environment of the changeful temperature. Thermal compensation decreases sensitivity of the temperature but it is limited, because the sensor response on temperature is not a mathematical function. Thermal hysteresis is main subject of the paper. As a result of the study, it was found that in addition to the typical hysteresis loop, there may appear effects of a breakthrough and this effect is repetitive for transducer specimen. In this study there is described a methodology of data processing to obtain sensor response on changing temperature as a vector field and preliminary model of this phenomena is proposed.
