Method and device for limiting non-permissive user equipment on access to home gateway

Disclosed in embodiments of the present invention are a method and device for limiting access to a home gateway (HGW) by a non-authorized user equipment (UE). The method comprises: receiving, by the HGW, a dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP) request message transmitted after a UE initiates a DHCP flow, the DHCP request message carrying UE identification information therein; transmitting, by the HGW and via a WAG, the UE identification information to an authentication, authorization and accounting (AAA) server and requesting the AAA server to determine the identity of the UE; after the AAA server determines UE identity information according to received UE identification information, receiving, by the HGW and via the WAG, a determination result determined by the AAA server; transmitting, by the HGW, to the UE a DHCP response message as a reply to the DHCP request message according to the determination result contained in a response message; if it is determined that the UE is an authorized UE, the DHCP response message contains an Internet protocol (IP) address, and if it is determined that the UE is a non-authorized UE, the DHCP response message does not contain an IP address.
