The Leuven Laboratory for Experimental Social Psychology

The "Laboratorium voor Experimentele Sociale Psychologie," founded and designed in 1967 by J. M. Nuttin, Jr., is located at the top floor of the psychological institute of the "Katholieke Universiteit te Leuven" (Louvain, Belgium) and covers about 400 square meters. The general principles which guided the organization and equipment of this space can be summarized as follows: maximum availability of manipulation and control of social factors; accurate measurement and registration of individual and group behavior; rooms for assistants and seminars; possibility for advanced training in research; multifunctionality of any part; and flexibility and adaptability to changing needs.
