State Observer for a Chemical Process Using Modern Discretization Algorithms

2020
State estimation using sliding modes allows taking advantage of finite time convergence and robustness for the design of virtual sensors. The goal of this paper is to design observers for a chemical process by using robust differentiators, based on high-order sliding mode, but using modern discretization algorithms, in such a way that low sampling rates and high estimation precision can be obtained. In addition, it seeks to preserve the convergence properties in finite time and avoid the chattering effects due to the discretization time. The results obtained are verified by means of simulation, by comparing the performance of different discretization algorithms.
