Quatro Novos Elementos na Tabela Periódica de Mendeleev: O que Muda na Prática?
2016
Both the IUPAC and the IUPAP have presented to the world the inclusion of four new chemical elements in the periodic table in the end of 2015, and it has completed the seventh row of it. The artificial development of four new elements was assigned to three countries: Japan, Russia and the United States; thus, the elements were named base on these countries’ names. The names were made official on June 8 th , 2016: nihonium (Nh, Z = 113), moscovium (Mc, Z = 115), tennessine (Ts, Z = 117) and oganesson (Og, Z = 118). The discovery of new elements with stability in the milliseconds region opens way for new findings concerning even heavier and possibly more stable elements. Therefore, it can change the course of history in Physics, Chemistry and even in computing fields.
