Research Progresses in Control of the Cell Morphology of Microcellular Polymeric Foams

The cellular morphology plays the most important role in the properties of microcellular polymeric foams using supercritical fluid as physical blow agent during the foaming process.The recent progress in control of cell morphology of microcellular polymeric foams(increased cell density,decreased cell size and uniformized cell size distribution) is reviewed from some significant influence factors,including foaming condition,matrix properties,blending modification,nano additives and external force filed etc.Finally,future development of microcellular polymeric foams is predicted.
