Autoionizing rydberg states of the Na2 molecule

Abstract Autoionizing Rydberg states are observed by optical-optical double resonance under high resolution. An intense n d 1 Δ g Rydberg series (12 ⪯ n ⪯ 30) is assigned and the quantum defects measured. Molecular constants of the Na + 2 ground state are obtained by extrapolation of the Rydberg series. and the ionization potential of tile Na 2 , molecule is deduced.
