Angular distribution and polarization in the backward peak of π−p → ΛKO at 4 and 6.2 GeV/c☆

Abstract Data are presented on the backward peak in the reaction π − p → Λ K O . 2950 events were observed at 4 GeV/c and 1080 at 6.2 GeV/c. The Λ-polarization rises very fast with decreasing u ; it is already high at u = 0.
