ATTITUDE FACTORS AS A MEDIATOR BETWEEN UNIVERSITY ROLES AND ENTREPRENEURIAL INTENTIONS

2020
The purpose of this study is to measure the relationship between the university roles towards entrepreneurial intentions with the existence of attitudes as control variables. Many universities throughout the world are started to impose entrepreneurial activities among their students to develop entrepreneurial intentions, but the critical success factors depend on many elements. One of the suggested elements to be validated is attitudes. The study was conducted in local universities. Three hundred respondents were approached in getting the data compiled. Based on that, only 250 complete and usable data received in returns. Questionnaires used to validate the items from university roles (6 items), entrepreneurial intentions (5 items), and finally, attitudes (6 items). Likert scales were used to measure all the items. Results demonstrated that university roles positively influenced entrepreneurial intentions and attitudes. Attitudes at the same time are only partially mediate between the university roles and entrepreneurial intentions. The results are essential for the university to rearrange its approach towards developing entrepreneurial intentions.
