Wide-range tunable wavelength filter in periodically poled lithium niobate

Abstract In this paper, a tunable narrowband spectral filter in periodically poled lithium niobate (PPLN) by temperature is experimentally demonstrated. We observe a shift of transmission spectrum of PPLN Solc-type filter when the temperature is modified. The tuning rate is measured to be −0.422 nm/°C, which is in agreement with calculation results of the coupled-mode theory.
