Contribution to the Knowledge on the Breeding Ornithofauna of Eastern Turkey

2008
Results of two ornithological expeditions in Turkey conducted during the breeding period in 2005 and 2007 are presented. Data on the breeding avifauna of Eastern Turkey (including some parts of the Black Sea Coast) was gathered, mostly from the provinces of Mush, Bitlis, Agri, Erzurum and Artvin. Records of rare breeding species in Turkey as Bubulcus ibis, Gypaetus barbatus, Gyps fulvus, Aquila heliaca, Falco biarmicus, Melanitta fusca, Oxyura leucocephala, Grus grus, Anthropoides virgo, Jynx torquilla, Sturnus roseus added new light on their distribution in this part of Asia Minor.
