Energy savings from pump impeller trimming

A recent study assessed the extent of pump oversizing in commercial office building heating and cooling systems. The study was used to estimate thepotential energy savings made possible by trimming the pump's impeller to match the actual system head requirements. The objective of estimating the potential energy savings was to provide both design engineers and building owners with data on the benefits of pump impeller trimming, thereby demonstrating the feassability of this approach as a means of improving building operating efficiency
