Design and Tuning of PI Velocity Regulators for High Performance Drives

Abstract This paper describes the design and tuning methodology of PI type velocity regulators for high performance, vector controlled AC drives. Three major issues will be addressed: the command tracking properties, disturbance rejection capability and saturation techniques to ensure best performance under torque constraints.
