Cloacogenic carcinoma of anal canal: two case reports and review of Chinese literature

Cloacogenic carcinoma is a rare tumor of rectum and anus, which originating from epithelium of the anal transition zone of embryonic residuals. We described the medical history of two patients with cloacogenic carcinoma of anal canal and reviewed of the Chinese literature (January 1994 to March 2009). In conclusion, cloacogenic carcinoma of anal canal can obtain good results with a abdominoperineal excision (APE).
