Analysis on Casting's Structure and Performance Distribution Based on ProCAST

The structure and distributions of properties for casting were simulated by using of ProCAST.The main compositions of the casting including the pearlite and ferrite contents,the shape and size of graphite can not be exported,but the distributions of Brinell hardness and tensile strength can be exported.In order to verify the results of simulation,the structure and properties of specimens taken from the casting were measured,and then the results were compared.It shows that the simulated results can correctly reflect the properties distribution of casting.For the casting whose different part bearing different stresses in the course of working,by simulating the distribution of stress and properties,the defects which may appear can be found more intuitively.It is useful for improving the design.
