PROTOCOLOS DE PRÁCTICA ASISTENCIALProtocolo diagnóstico del dolor abdominal recurrenteDiagnostic protocol of recurrent abdominal pain

2012
Chronic abdominal pain (CAP) is one that persists over three months either continuously or intermittently and is one of the most frequent causes of consultation to a gastroenterologist. Recurrent abdominal pain is one that recurs or appears, especially after an interval. The CAP presents a diagnostic challenge for the practitioner because a large variety of diseases may be associated with this symptom. Identify which patients with CAP suffers an organic disease and which one has a functional process is the main objective of this protocol and requires a detailed history and thorough examination to optimize diagnostic resources and to avoid testing unnecessary.
