The Influence of Niupozhibao pellet on the expression of aquaporins in LPS-induced acute lung injury

Objective:To observe the effect of Niupozhibao(NPZB) pellet on the expression of aquaporins in LPS-induced acute lung injury(ALI).Methods:LPS-induced shock models were established by applying the intravenous LPS 1.5 mg/kg and the intraperitoneal D-Galn 100mg/kg,and it was intervened with NPZB pellet.Then the lung injury was observed with HE staining,the pulmonary collagen fibers expression was detected with Van Gieson staining,and the expression of AQP-1 and AQP-5 was surveyed by immunohistochemical staining.Results:LPS induced severe ALI,the staining of collagen fibers in lung tissues increases dramatically,and the expression of AQP-1 and AQP-5 decreased.NPZB pellet lessened ALI and the expression of collagen fibers in lung tissues,and improve the expression of AQP-1 and AQP-5.Conclusion:The effect of NPZB pellet on LPS-induced ALI and fibrosis might be related to the regulation of AQP-1 and AQP-5 expression.
