Adenosinergic Receptor Antagonists: Clinical Experience in Parkinson’s Disease

In the management of Parkinson’s disease, chronic L-DOPA therapy is associated with the development of motor fluctuations and dyskinesias. Since L-DOPA is the most effective antiparkinsonian medication currently available, adjunctive medications that reduce or prevent fluctuations and dyskinesias could be of great value.
