Investigations concerning the system peak in ion-chromatography using indirect photometric detection

In single-column ion chromatography frequently a „system peak” is observed, which is marked as hydrogencarbonate peak in a great number of publications. The area and direction of the system peak depends on the pH-value of the sample as well as on the eluent. In addition a correlation between the hydrogencarbonate concentration and system peak has been proved. The correlation HCO 3 − system peak is studied and the results are described in this paper.
