Analysis on the Influencing Laws of Sensitive Conditions on Minimum Ignition Energy of Dust Clouds

2009
In order to make experimental measurement of minimum ignition energy of dust clouds more accurate, the measuring factors affecting minimum ignition energy were analyzed from various aspects.Categories of effecting factors, namely, sensitive conditions, were put forward according to status of dust clouds, dust particles inherent nature and ignition circuit. In concrete experiment, eighteen factors were summarized: concentration, humidity, particle size and distribution, volatile content, temperature(ambient temperature),turbulent of dust clouds, disperse quality, pressure, oxygen concentration, electrode material, electrode diameter and curvature of electrode, electrode distance, spark duration, ignition delay time, energy density, circuit elements, combustible gases content and experiment times. The effecting laws of sensitive conditions of minimum ignition energy during experiment were analyzed. The essence and underlying causes of effecting laws was also analyzed based on ignition mechanism and process of dust clouds. This study provides guidance for experimental measurement of minimum ignition energy of dust clouds.
