Ultrasound-assisted electro-oxidation of Methylene blue dye using new Zn3(PO4)2 based electrode prepared by electro-deposition

Abstract This work aims studying the influence of mass transfer during electrochemical oxidation of Methylene blue (MB) onto new Zn3(PO4)2 based electrode. The prepared Zn3(PO4)2 electrode was characterized using X-ray Diffraction (XRD), X-Ray Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). The experimental results showed that the electrochemical oxidation of Methylene blue (MB) using Zn3(PO4)2 electrode was influenced by the mode of mass transport. The use of ultrasound irradiation instead of classic stirring increases the MB removal by +51.4%.
