Different Types of Repetitive Elements in Mammalian Genome: Cloning and Characterization of cDNA Copies of Transcripts Containing Repetitive Sequences

1988
Mammalian genome contains different types of repetitive elements. Each of the repetitive families consists of many relative sequences. Primary structure of some of them has been determined and it was shown that homologous sequences could be found in different RNA species. Cloning of cDNA of these transcripts is a possible way of studying functional significance of repetitive elements.
